Cannot Find Break In Thermostat Wire (Try This Easy Fix)

Running a new thermostat wire through walls, in crawl spaces or attics because some mouse or an animal ate through your existing thermostat wires is no fun. Even finding the problem in the first place can be a huge headache. And installing conduit to protect the wire is also very difficult and believe it or not it’s not the only solution.

We all live in a very technically advanced world today. Sometimes it just takes a little detective work to find the best answer. A good technician can find a shorted or damaged thermostat wire without cutting through wall or going into attics and crawl spaces.

But do you want to pay him for the time to pull in a new wire? If it’s an easy repair then read no further

And I’m not saying that my solution could be a good solution for you, because after over 45 years of repairing, installing, and servicing HVAC equipment I know there is no a perfect answer for every problem. You’ll have to weigh the difference between my solution and paying a service tech.

Or you may want him to do all the work and tell you the cost difference between pulling a new wire and my solution.

So my solution is a wireless thermostat. That’s right. No wires required between the thermostat and the furnace. But, don’t get that confuse with Wi-Fi because the searches you do on your favorite search engine will confuse the two.
