Ongoing Improvements
I’ve been reviewing the entire site for performance and search visibility:
- Fixed sitemap errors that were preventing Google from reading new content
- Cleared out outdated or broken links
- Resubmitted our sitemap structure to Google with proper indexing settings
- Reviewed our SEO plugin settings to prevent future indexing conflicts
These changes help search engines find and trust our content faster.
Most Recent Fixes or What’s New At Home Heat Problems
- April 3, 2025: Resolved a problem where our post sitemap had a hidden “noindex” tag, which blocked it from being read by Google. The issue was traced to an advanced setting in our SEO plugin (Rank Math). It has now been fully fixed.
- Verified all sitemap URLs are loading properly and returning the correct status code (200 OK) with no blocking headers.
- Submitted the updated sitemap to Google Search Console for reprocessing.
Content Updates
- Updated our article: 14 Ways to Stop Copper Thieves from Stealing Your A/C Unit — added internal links, improved layout, and clarified a few outdated tips.
- On Tuesday, 8 May 2025, I updated another article, Seems To Me That My Furnace Is Upside Down, which includes a funny quote from The Seattle Times.
- Reviewed content structure and cleaned up SEO settings for several other posts.
- Added category-level sitemaps so Google can better crawl our HVAC topics.
